SUPER.MODEL: My New Project with Stan Lee

I am so excited to finally be able to talk about the show that I’ve been writing!  It’s called SUPER.MODEL for none other than comic legend STAN LEE!  The show in a nutshell?  Supermodels with Super Powers. That’s right, you don’t get more fun than that.

Stan’s team met with me last year to see if I could bring my own take to his original idea, and I jumped at the chance. As you all know, I LOVE superhero mythologies, scifi and action. But I also love fashion and fun female characters (I wrote a comedy script called The Very True Adventures of the Madoff Girls–about two trust fund fashion obsessed sisters who lose their money in a financial scandal), so the project could not have been a better fit for me as a writer/ producer.

The show will be a series on Stan’s You Tube channel called STAN LEE’S WORLD OF HEROES. Please check it out and subscribe- there are so many fantastic, fun shows already playing. The channel is being produced by Michael Eisner’s digital company VUGURU (who have produced fantastic original series like ‘Booth at the End’ and ‘Prom Queen’) and is being executive produced by Heath Corson, the talented writer/ producer behind Warner Digital’s AIM HIGH.

We are all really excited to bring this scifi action comedy to you – it’s chock full of crazy fun, gorgeous and sexy (but humanly flawed) models, a whip smart geek girl blogger, a brilliant villain and some awesome scifi superpowers. Please check out our teaser trailer above that premiered last Thursday at Comic Con (yes, COMIC CON, how friggin’ excited was I?!). Please ‘like’ it and share along your social media platforms if you can. The teaser is just to give you an idea of what the show is about- no cast is attached yet. But soon!

Really excited to finally be sharing my writing with an audience, it’s been a wild trip getting here. A big thanks to Stan’s team and Vuguru for believing in me!

STAR SQUAD: A Hunger Games Fan Film

In Latest, Project News | on March, 06, 2012 | by

Fan Films hold a dear place in my heart.  I was an actor in the amazing Elfquest Fan Film Trailer last year and was mesmerized by the support and love that the Elquest fan community expressed in having the comic brought to life on the screen.  Which is why I am so excited to be a part of a fan film for a book series that I am a massive fan of: ‘HUNGER GAMES’.  My friend (the talented) Woody Tondorf and his writing partner (the equally talented) Caroline Framke have written a PHENOMENAL Fan Film called STAR SQUAD.  It is a completely original film that takes place towards the end of the 3rd book (Mockingjay) and extends the world to places you want to see (trust me) with both characters you know (ie. Gale, Johanna, Delly & more…) and original characters. I was lucky enough to be asked to play one of these original characters- the ‘Career’ weapon wielding badass CROLLO. Not only is the script ah-mazing, the team has secured the former ‘FIREFLY/ SERENITY’ sets for some of the shooting!

Since this is a fan film, however, we can’t make any money on the project so the only way to finance the production is through DONATIONS.  This is a labor of love for everyone involved so if you love Hunger Games like I do and want to be a part of a great project (there are rewards for donations), please head to the Indie GoGo campaign site.  Attached are some promotional pics that we all took in character- pretty amazing right?

PLEASE DONATE AND SHARE! We can’t do it without you!

Acting in Mystery Guitar Man’s “Once Upon”.

I was thrilled when my friend, the talented actor, writer, producer Brendan Bradley (Squatters, Video Game Reunion) asked me to act in Joe Penna’s aka Mystery Guitar Man’s first scripted series on You Tube called “Once Upon”. I’ve been following the YouTube superstars, like Joe, for almost two years now and have already acted in two badass BlackBoxTV episodes (here and here) so was incredibly excited to be a part of Joe’s new project.

Joe has written a whimsical scifi fairytale that explains Mystery Guitar Man’s (and his tiny counterpart’s) origins. I had the pleasure of acting opposite the awesome Mark Gantt (The Bannen Way) and Joe at a rustic cabin up in Topanga Canyon- it was a magical experience, in part thanks to the awesome crew.

Here’s episode 3. Hope you enjoy!
